Terms of service
These terms apply to everyone who uses developerhiring.com. By creating an account or buying a plan, you agree to them. Questions go to [email protected].
1. Who provides the service
The service is provided by the administrator of the developerhiring.com service ("we", "us"). The only contact channel is [email protected].
2. What the service does
DeveloperHiring is a technical recruiting platform for companies that hire software developers. It helps you source candidates, screen CVs and public code, send coding assessments, run AI technical interviews, review integrity signals and rank a shortlist. It is not a recruiting agency or a job board. We do not employ candidates, and we do not guarantee that any candidate will be hired or will accept an offer.
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 and use the service for business purposes.
- Give accurate information and keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Each account belongs to a company workspace. Admins of the workspace manage seats and roles.
- The free demo can be used once per account. It shows a sample result and is not a plan.
4. Plans, billing and renewals
- Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance in USD. Prices are shown on the pricing page.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing page, and access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Each company can have one active subscription. Upgrades take effect after the price difference for the rest of the period is paid, which happens right away. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal.
- Plan limits are consumption limits per billing period. Deleting a role, candidate, test or interview does not restore the quota.
- Card payments may require extra verification by your bank. Scale customers can also pay by invoice.
- Payments are not refundable for partial periods, except where the law gives you a right to a refund.
5. Your responsibilities toward candidates
- You are the controller of candidate data you process with the service, and you must have a lawful basis for it. Our data processing agreement forms part of these terms.
- You must not use the service to discriminate against candidates on protected characteristics.
- Final hiring decisions must be made by people. AI scores and integrity signals are inputs, not decisions.
- You must honor candidate requests for human review, access and deletion, which the product supports.
- Outreach must be relevant to the role and must keep the opt-out link we add to every message.
6. AI processing
The service uses AI to build skill matrices, score CVs, public code and screening answers, and run text-based technical interviews. AI output can contain mistakes. Every AI score includes a reason so your team can check it. Candidates are told which stages use AI before they start. Personal data is not used to train AI models.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the service for roles that are not real or to collect candidate data for other purposes,
- contact candidates who opted out, or import contact lists you have no right to use,
- try to break, overload or reverse engineer the service, the code sandbox or other customers' data,
- share accounts with people outside your company or resell access, except through the API on the Scale plan,
- upload malicious code, except as part of a security task designed for the sandbox.
8. Content and intellectual property
You keep all rights to your roles, custom tasks, notes and data. You give us the rights needed to host and process them to provide the service. Candidates keep rights to the code they write in tests, and the company can use it only to evaluate the candidate. The software, design and task library of DeveloperHiring remain ours.
9. Availability and support
We work to keep the service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and the service carries no uptime commitment or service credits. Support is by email at [email protected], with priority handling on Scale.
10. Liability
The service is provided as is, within what the law allows. We are not liable for hiring decisions, for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Ending the agreement
You can cancel and delete your workspace at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or fail to pay, after notice where reasonable. After closing, you can export your data for 30 days, and then it is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will email the account admins before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change applies.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law that applies to the administrator of the developerhiring.com service, without limiting rights that consumer or data protection law gives you where you live.
