AI transparency for developer candidates

If a company sent you a DeveloperHiring test or interview, here is what you should know. AI scores your CV, public code and interview answers against a published rubric, a person always makes the decision, and you can ask for human review, export or delete your data, or opt out.

Which parts of the process use AI?

Some stages use AI, some do not. Here is the full list, so nothing is hidden.

What does the rubric look at?

Each role has a skill matrix, a list of skills with weights, set by the hiring company. Every candidate of that role is scored against the same matrix and the same interview rubric.

  • Skills, not background. The scoring step never sees your name, photo, age or gender.
  • Your own work. Interview questions are about the code you wrote in the test.
  • Reasons you can read. Every AI score includes a written reason.
  • No trick questions. Tasks look like real work for the role.

How do I ask for a human review?

If you think an AI score is wrong, ask for a person to look at it. Use the link in any email about your application, or the candidate portal. The hiring company gets the request with your note, and a person reviews the score.

How do I export or delete my data?

Open the candidate portal and sign in with the email address that received the invite. You can download everything we hold about you in a machine-readable file, or delete it. Deletion removes your CV, code, transcripts and scores from every company workspace on the service.

How do I stop being contacted?

Every outreach email has a one-click opt-out link. After you opt out, no company on DeveloperHiring can contact you through the service again. You can also email [email protected].

How did a company find my profile?

Companies on DeveloperHiring find candidates in four ways. You applied through their role page, they imported a list they already had, a team member referred you, or we found your public developer profile or public code. We only use data you made public or gave us. We never buy contact lists. If you do not want to be contacted, use the opt-out link in the email.

Questions from candidates

No. AI scores help the hiring team focus, but a person makes every decision. You can ask for human review of any AI score.

The test instructions tell you what the company allows. Paste events and AI code likelihood are recorded either way, and the interview asks about your own solution.

Only if the company turned on webcam snapshots and you agreed. Snapshots are occasional still images, not video.

Each company sets a retention period, 12 months by default. After that your data is deleted. You can delete it sooner from the candidate portal.

The hiring company decides what feedback to share. You can always see your own AI scores and reasons in the candidate portal.
